Several high-performance models were unveiled at the 2007 LA Auto Show including the BMW M3 coupe and M3 Sedan, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, the Subaru WRX STi, and the darling of the show, the 2009 Nissan GT-R supercar. Mercedes showed off its muscle with the C63 sedan and is now a member of the 400+ horsepower club.

At $70,000 and 480-horsepower, the GT-R is being touted as the affordable supercar. The GT-R drew more attention than any other debut. Crowds of journalists stayed by its side throughout the two days of press preview, and the crowds only grew exponentially during consumer days.

BMW alse drew attention with three producti launches that included the M3 Sedan and Coupe and the all-new 1-Series Coupe. At 414-horsepower, the M3 gains almost 30% more power than its predicessor as well as two additional cylinders.

Hyundai showed off a 300+ horsepower concept called the Genesis Coupe. Production is scheduled for 2008 so expect to see this one in showrooms. Thnk of it as a more affordable G37 Coupe.

Japan's premier Rally Cars - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and Subaru WRX STi - both premiered and have brought with them more power, more technology, and more style. While Mitsu softened up the EVO's apprearance, Subaru went the other way with more aggressive styling cues.
